Indecency

Indecency has been a major problem in the United States culture. The use of dirty words and curse words are used way too much in television today. Need I say more about indecency in the porn world. In the porn industry, the use of swear words are out of control.  They use such words as cunt, fuck me, fuck me in the ass, cocksucker and many more. I feel there has to be more done to prevent this from happening. I know there is the FCC which deals with this problem and helps clean up the vulger language that is used on television, but I do not think that they do a great job in completly stopping it. For example, in one epsisode of the Family Guy, Peter sings a song on how the FCC can not stop him from using profanity, no matter what the situation is. I agree with that, but I also disagree. I believe that the FCC is not 100% successful, but they try their hardest to try and stop the use of profanity or any other unnecessary behavior on televison, movies or on the radio.

My dad’s responsibilities include serving as the master control operator for the station during the 7:30-8:30 p.m. timeslot. On Friday, he aired a TV commercial for Volkswagen Jetta that ended in what sounded like “Holy Shit,” except that the actor supposedly said “Holy Shh.” According to Dad, the “shit” was audible on the air, which is a violation of the Federal Communication Commission’s regulations about indecent language. Dad had to make note of the indecent words on the station’s log, which is turned in to the traffic director for further action by the station’s management. [...]
